About this event

Tax exempt beneficiaries are taking a greater interest in the way that LPRs are dealing with deceased estate tax issues, thanks in part to advisory firms. We are aware that litigation has been threatened in some cases for what the beneficiaries perceive to be payment of unnecessary tax by the LPR.

In the lead up to the end of the income year, this session will get you thinking about whether you should perhaps be making exempt beneficiaries presently entitled to estate income or specifically entitled to trust capital gains and the things that you need to consider to do this effectively.

Ahead of this session, we suggest reviewing the following articles on our website:

Article 21 - A sense of entitlement – understanding the difference for tax purposes between absolute, present and specific entitlement

Article 37 -Tax exempt residuary beneficiaries
