WHO WE ARE: FoodFilled is a youth-led food rescue charity dedicated to combating food wastage and alleviating hunger. We are a volunteer based not-for-profit collecting excess, unsold or leftover food and delivering it to people in need, saving valuable resources from ending up in landfill and providing immediate relief for those experiencing food insecurity.Having been established in late 2018, this event serves as FoodFilled's official launch into the community. All community members are invited to enjoy a delicious dinner and engage in an informative discussion. Not only will you leave with the tools to support your community and the planet but you may walk away with some amazing prizes from our raffle. The event will be moderated by the Chair of the FoodFilled board and include the following panellists: 1) Sam Oakden - Lead on the Australian Food Pact &amp; Voluntary Agreement Manager with Stop Food Waste Australia. Sam will be outlining the National Food Waste Strategy and the work Stop Food Waste Australia are doing to support Australia's target to halve its food waste by 2030. 2) Mel Coulter - New Product Development &amp; Customer Insights Manager at Grill'd. Mel will be exploring Grill'd’s sustainability journey, including the sustainability directives and initiatives they have in place to mitigate their environmental impact. 3) Chris Ennis - Director of Business Innovation at CERES. CERES is an environmental education centre, community garden, urban farm and social enterprise hub. Chris will be equipping community members with practical ways they can engage in ethical and sustainable food practices at home. 4) Samantha Wilson - Social Advocate. Samantha will be sharing her lived experience of youth homelessness and food insecurity, explaining how she got to where she is now. Date and Time: Wednesday 16 Nov: 7pm - 8:30pm.
