Event description

Description

Illegally imported products containing asbestos impact the health and safety of Australian workers and the wider community.

Asbestos and other prohibited dangerous building products continue to be imported illegally into Australia despite being banned in 2003.

Part of the solution is a holistic approach to supply chain management. This informative seminar will discuss the impacts of building construction materials being identified on sites and ways to minimise the potential to receive illegal asbestos.

Also to be discussed are the Regulatory requirements for Asbestos Awareness Training for those undertaking Asbestos related work.

This seminar is of value to builders, construction managers, site foreman and supervisors, facility managers, architects, and property owners.

Co-Presented by Brett Pfeffer (SafeWork SA)

Gary Purdy - Manager Asbestos & Property Risk (Greencap) and Brett Pfeffer - Principal Industry Advisor (SafeWork SA) will present requirements for the South Australian Work Health and Safety in relation to imported products and the requirements for Asbestos Awareness Training.
