About this event

  • 8 hours

Tai Chi for Arthritis is a program designed by Dr Paul Lam and a team of medical specialists and Tai Chi experts. Based on the Sun style of Tai Chi, Tai Chi for Arthritis Prevention is easy to learn, effective, and safe. Tai Chi for Arthritis is an evidence-based program that works to prevent falls by improving balance, confidence, and muscular strength in older adults. This one-day workshop, which is a part of the Instructor Training package, will equip you with the necessary skills to facilitate your own Tai Chi classes and will be hosted by Sam Sujatna.

During the workshop, you will:

  • Develop knowledge and skills around the principles and forms of Tai Chi
  • Learn the Tai Chi for Arthritis set
  • Learn how to teach the program effectively and safely using Dr Lam’s stepwise progressive teaching methods.

Who should attend?

This training is suitable for physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and fitness instructors who predominantly work with older adults. Individuals who would like to implement Tai Chi learnings into their work to help prevent falls by addressing strength and balance in their older adult clients are encouraged to register.

The workshop is held on the 7th of May (9am-5pm AWST). You need to complete the online training component and present the completion certificate to attend this workshop.

The cost of this workshop includes the catering of morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. If you would like to request an invoice for this payment, please email us at info@injurymatters.org.au.
