Jonathan Freedland: The Traitors Circle

Join us at Moruya Library for a front-row seat to some of the most anticipated talks and panels from this year’s Sydney Writers’ Festival, streamed FREE from the Sydney Writers Festival thanks to the State Library NSW.

Hear from acclaimed authors, powerful storytellers, and fresh voices — all without leaving town.

Jonathan Freedland: The Traitors Circle

Berlin, 1943. A group of high-society anti-Nazi dissenters meet for a tea party one late summer afternoon, forming an unlikely circle of rebels drawn from the German elite that would defy Hitler for over a decade.

They do not know that, sitting around the table, was someone poised to betray them all to the Gestapo – revealing their secret to the Nazis’ most ruthless detective.

In his latest release, The Traitor’s Circle, multi-award-winning journalist and bestselling author Jonathan Freedland brings a remarkable tale of courage and resistance from the Third Reich to life.

Join Jonathan as he considers an age-old question with new for urgency for our time: what kind of person does it take to risk everything and stand up to tyranny?
