Against the backdrop of Gudanji country, Debra Dank pieces together a deeply personal and profound tribute to family and country in We Come With This Place.

Through a rich and varied mosaic of vivid episodes, Debra shares a complex, powerful story that moves outside of time and place, and confronts the racism that is ever-present in Australia. In an unprecedented sweep, We Come With This Place took home four awards at the 2023 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards, including Book of the Year.
