Description

The Sydney Musculoskeletal, Bone & Joint Health Alliance (SydMSK) is a University of Sydney multidisciplinary initiative to expand research strength in musculoskeletal health across the University and affiliated institutions, partnering with Local Health Districts, Primary Health Networks and Sydney Health Partners.

The Sydney Musculoskeletal Health Alliance Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) 2019 will be the third signature event which is being facilitated by the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sydney Medical School, Faculty of Medicine and Health.

This year we will have four keynote speakers as well as oral and poster presentations on topics spanning basic science, clinical trials, translational research and population health research addressing treatment, management and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.

Keynote speakers include:

Professor Ian Harris from the South Western Sydney Clinical School, the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at Liverpool Hospital in Southwest Sydney.

Professor Deborah Schofield Director of the Centre For Economic Impacts of Genomic Medicine, and Professor and Chair of Health Economics in the Department of Economics at Macquarie University.

Associate Professor Dave Walton from the School of Physical Therapy at Western University (Ontario, Canada), Associate Scientist with the Lawson Health Research Institute, and Director of the Pain and Quality of Life Integrative Research Lab.

Professor Sallie Pearson from the Centre of Big Data Research in Health, the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
