Sydney Airport and Ronald McDonald House Charities invite you to be part of the second annual Runway Run on Saturday, 5 November 2016. More tickets made available due to popular demand!
The Runway Run is part of the Sydney Airport Community Christmas Giving Appeal, and raises much needed funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities to help support families caring for seriously ill children who are away from home this Christmas.
A one-of-a-kind event, the Runway Run is a 500 metre sprint down one of Sydney Airport’s operational runways.
For the first time, the event is open to the public and we’re inviting participation from runners of all abilities. With limited tickets available, register now to avoid missing out!
Registration is $100 per person and includes entry to the race, your very own Ronald McDonald outfit and event day parking at the Blu Emu Car Park.

Time: 8:30am arrival for a 10:00am race.

When will the run take place?
The Runway Run will be held on Saturday, 5 November 2016 at 10am. Runners will be required to register in the marshalling area at Blu Emu Car Park at 8:30am for transportation to the runway.
Where will the run take place?
The Runway Run will take place on one of Sydney Airport’s operational runways. Runners will need to arrive at the Blu Emu Car Park before being transported by bus to the runway.
Can anyone participate in the Runway Run?
The run is open to all ages, however people under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by an adult.

How much does it cost to enter the Runway Run?
Entry to the Runway Run is $100 with all proceeds donated to the Sydney Airport Community Christmas Giving Appeal supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Can I undertake my own fundraising for the race?
Absolutely. To set up your individual fundraising page, please register at Everyday Hero. Funds raised as part of the appeal will support families caring for seriously ill children who are away from home this Christmas, so every dollar counts.

When do entries close?
Entries officially close on 31 October 2016, however with only 100 spots available, register now to avoid missing out.
How do I get to the Runway Run?
Runners will need to arrive at Blu Emu Car Park by 8:30am sharp on the day of the race. The Blu Emu Car Park is on Ross Smith Drive and can be reached by car. Please proceed to Bus Stop E.
If you are arriving by public transport, you can take the Blu Emu Car Park shuttle bus from the International and Domestic terminals. For more transport options, please visit www.sydneyairport.com.au
Is parking covered in the entry cost?
Parking for one vehicle at Blu Emu Car Park is covered in the cost of your registration. Please take a ticket when you enter and proceed to Bus Stop E. Your parking pass will be validated at the registration area.
Where should I go when I arrive?
Once you arrive at Blu Emu Car Park, please make your way to the registration area at Bus Stop E. At the registration area you will have your name marked off, be given a pair of Ronald McDonald socks, a Christmas appeal T-shirt and a red afro wig. You will then be transported by bus to the runway.
Can my family and friends come and watch the race?
Family and friends are more than welcome to attend the run and support participants from the festival area at Blu Emu Car Park. Unfortunately due to the unique nature of the event, spectators will not be allowed on the runway.
Where can I leave my belongings when I am racing?
Please bring as little as possible with you to the event as storage of gear onsite will not be provided. Any valuable items such as phones and wallets can be left with friends and family or on the bus during the event. You are welcome to bring your mobile phone with you to the runway however pleased be advised that your phone is your responsibility.
Will water be provided?
Water will be provided on the bus to and from the runway to make sure you stay hydrated.
What information do I need to bring along on the day?
Please bring a print out of your event ticket and a piece of photo ID.
What items do I need to bring along on the day?
Please wear comfortable clothes including your running shoes and make sure you have applied sunscreen before entering the bus.
I no longer want to take part in the Runway Run, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately there are no refunds for this event. With all proceeds from the Runway Run going to Ronald McDonald House Charities your support will be greatly appreciated even if you can no longer attend the event.
