Swimming and Water Safety Teacher (Blended)

This course will equip candidates with the skills and knowledge required to deliver swimming lessons.

We are excited to partner with Hume Swim School and Life Saving Victoria (LSV) to conduct Swim Teacher Training.

The course focus includes the role of the swim teacher, water safety, aquatic rescue, teaching strategies, water familiarisation, swimming strokes and safe diving.

Successful completion of this course will result in the award of:

SISSS00132 Swimming and Water Safety Teacher

• SISCAQU020 Perform water rescues

• SISCAQU023 Plan Swimming Lessons

• SISCAQU024 Teach water familiarisation, buoyancy and mobility skills

• SISCAQU025 Teach water safety and survival skills

• SISCAQU026 Teach swimming strokes

This course will be facilitated by Life Saving Victoria.

📍 Location will be Broadmeadows Aquatic & Leisure Centre

➡️ This course is online + 8 hour face to face + on the job.

➡️ Approx 6 - 8 hours of e-learning must be completed before physical training.

➡️ Requires a reasonable level of physical fitness and sound swimming ability.

➡️ You must be able to swim at least 50m.

➡️ This course will only be open to young people 16 - 24.

➡️ Course will be facilitated on Saturday 14 March from 9am - 5pm.
