No Worries Writing Workshops: Find Your Flow with Kathryn Heyman
Creativity is about freedom and flow. In this short workshop, Dr Kathryn Heyman will guide you through a series of immersive writing exercises to free your imagination and help you discover new colours in your writing. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a toolkit of techniques and ideas, the beginnings of characters and a whole new sense of your abilities as a creative person.
Kathryn Heyman is the author of the acclaimed memoir, Fury, which won the CAL Fellowship Award, was longlisted for the international Folio Prize, shortlisted for the Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature and is now in development as a feature film. Her six novels have won various awards including the international Wingate Award, the Southern Arts Award (UK) and the Arts Council of England Prize - and been shortlisted for awards in Australia and the UK including the WA Premier's Literary Awards, the Kibble Prize, the Scottish Writer of the Year Award and many others. Alongside her publishing career, Kathryn was for many years a writer of radio dramas and serials for the BBC. She taught poetry and writing for the University of Oxford and is now the director of the Australian Writers Mentoring Program.
