SWAG Family World Tour

SWAG Family World Tour

Sir Stanley Burbury TheatreSandy Bay, TAS
Sunday, Mar 1 from 4:30 pm to 6 pm AEDT
Overview

Join Tassie’s own SWAG Family as they tell the tale of how a family of five managed to bike-pack across four continents for close to 2 years

Starting off with a tandem and triplet bicycle and a child still breastfeeding, the Hughes family headed to New Zealand and South America to traverse mountain ranges with snow-capped peaks, narrow roads and friendly locals. By the time they hit Europe the two eldest children were ready for their own bikes and after a relatively comfortable tour of Ireland and the UK they hit the mountain ranges again in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The World Tour wrapped up in China and Vietnam by which stage the youngest was burning around on her own balance bike. The final 300 km stretched from Devonport to Woodbridge as the tour wound down in familiar climes before making it home early this year.

The Hughes Family will share their tips and experiences of bike packing, homeschooling, free camping, transporting bikes, and always challenging yourself to more adventure.
