About this event

Afternoon Session

Looking for ways to make your garden grow better? Want to grow your own food? The secrets to great gardening start in the soil.

Learn the secrets to great soil, and how to create great soil in your garden with gardening writer and consultant Kate Wall.

Kate will discuss a variety of soil improvement methods and will make home composting simple. Composting at home not only keeps waste from landfill, it adds valuable organic matter to our soils, feeding our plants as it does.

In this workshop participants will:

• learn the basics of what makes great soil and how you can achieve this in your garden

• learn the ins and outs of easy composting, including what you can and can't add to the compost

• learn about other soil improvement methods

• make a liquid fertiliser to take home.

Registrations are essential. Please ensure you register a ticket for everyone in your group. This workshop is designed for adults or people over the age of 16.

Please bring:

Bring your own clean milk or juice bottle to take your own liquid fertiliser home with you.
