Sustainable Gardening Workshop and Plant Swap

Sustainable Gardening Workshop and Plant Swap

Cockman House, WannerooWoodvale, WA
Sunday, May 3 from 2 pm to 3 pm AWST
Overview

Join us for a family-friendly plant swap and sustainable gardening workshop at Cockman House to celebrate the Australian Heritage Festival.

Join us at Cockman House, the oldest remaining house in Wanneroo, for a free plant swap in the grounds.

To participate, please bring a small healthy plant, cutting or seedling that fits into one of these categories: Seeds, indoor plants, herbs, vegetables or flowers, and swap it for a different plant.

Swapping and having experiences, rather than buying new, is a great way be more sustainable.

From 2.00 – 3.00pm join us for an all-ages family-friendly Sustainable Gardening Workshop on the grounds of Cockman House. This workshop is free, but bookings are required.

Did you know that plastic plant pots can't go in your kerbside recycling bin but can still be recycled. Please bring your unwanted plastic plant pots to the plant swap and we will take them to CLAW Environmental - a specialist plastics recycling centre, where they will get a second life!

Please BYO water; the water at this heritage house location is not suitable for consumption.

---

This event forms part of the 2026 Australian Heritage Festival, a national celebration of Australia’s diverse heritage stories. Across the City of Wanneroo, the Festival showcases the places, people and stories that have shaped our region — from Aboriginal cultural heritage and early settlement to community life, industry and change over time.
