Fri. 20 May 2016, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm AEST
A candid chat with Susie Orbach, the author of Fat is a Feminist Issue on eating, dieting and body shame in the digital age.
Renowned psychotherapist and author Susie Orbach is back in Sydney and her events have all sold out. But, Susie has offered one final event for Endangered Bodies:
Chewing the Fat - A candid chat on eating, dieting and body shame in the digital age.
This is a rare chance to see Susie up-close and personal in the cosy surrounds of the The Lord Dudley Hotel in Sydney’s beautiful and historic Paddington area.
Susie will be joined by psychologist and director of BodyMatters Australasia, Sarah McMahon, to engage on key questions surrounding:
Parenting a teen
Teenage body pressures
Transgenerational eating issues
Social media and its pressures
Media literacy for teens
There is also an opportunity for Q&A with the audience.
The Lord Dudley Hotel is just a 10-minute drive east from the city or a 10-minute walk from Oxford Street or Edgecliff train station. If driving arrive early to secure a car park and get yourself a drink and a seat before Susie's talk in the Guinness Room upstairs.
Doors will be open from 6.15pm and Susie's talk will start at 6.30pm with question time at the end. You can book dinner in the downstairs modern-Australian dining room after the event if you want to continue your Friday evening discussions after the event!
