This train-the-trainer workshop is designed to equip Emergency Services key staff to be able to present this workshop within their agencies.

About this Event

Hosted by Fire and Rescue NSW as part of the RASSA group.

Supporting wellbeing and resilience in children before, during and after a natural disaster.

First responder trainers will be able to deliver the following modules:

  1. Supporting children through disaster preparedness, immediate, short and long-term
  2. The impact of trauma on children
  3. The role first responders can play in children’s recovery
  4. Self-care for first responders
  5. The role of first responders as parents.

The core outcome of the training is to equip the trainer with the knowledge and skills required to deliver and promote resilience and coping, and decrease long-term adverse reactions in children (aged 0-12 years) following a disaster or traumatic event.

Target audience: RASSA members' employees who have an interest in supporting children and/or etc.
