Sunday Long Pose Life Drawing: 3 Hours — Studio Maverik

Join Studio Maverik for a 3-hour Sunday session of self-guided long pose life drawing & creating, with plenty of time to capture the finer details of a pose 🌞

At this class, you can enjoy the luxury of time while crafting your creations ~ over the course of three hours, you can work from a life model holding a single pose and a background set to inspire your artwork.

What can I expect at this session?

Long pose life drawing entails an experienced nude life model holding a single pose for an extended period of time, with small breaks throughout. In this three-hour session, you will have lots of time to capture the essence of a single pose and the simple backdrop they will pose among.

We will start with some quick warm-up poses, then move into one long pose for the majority of the session. We provide basic drawing materials such as paper, pencils, erasers and charcoal, but we encourage you to bring all of your preferred materials and settle in for a relaxed session with enough time to create a comprehensive piece.

We’ve capped this session at 20 spots to ensure each person has plenty of room to spread out, relax, move around and experiment with scale and materials.

What should I bring?

🎨 Materials: For this special extended session, we encourage you to bring any of your preferred studio materials to make the most out of the class. You are most welcome to bring wet materials such as ink, paints and watercolours, we simply ask that you bring a drop-sheet and any cleaning materials to keep our studio nice and clean for everyone.

✏️ Set-up: We provide chairs and A2 drawing boards for you to work from. As we cap this session at 20 drawers, we allow for some space for you to set-up as you wish ~ so you are welcome to bring an easel, a floor-easel, your own drawing boards etc.

☕ Snacks: We will provide tea and bickies and you are most welcome to bring your own beverages and snacks to keep you going!

Class Details

Held at the incredible Arts Venue – The Station (16 School St, Fortitude Valley). Run by two local creatives, Frances & Rhianna. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to settle in and set up before we start.

ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS + PEOPLE WELCOME. This class is perfect for anyone – from those who want to take their time dipping their toe in life drawing, up to experienced drawers. We're all very friendly!

Cancellation policy

We have a strict cancellation policy that requires you to request a refund more than 24 hours before an event. You can request a refund via your appointment email to open up the spot for another drawer at least 1 day beforehand. We cannot swap your ticket for another date.

• If you choose to work with wet mediums such as ink or paint we require you to come prepared with a floor cover, and cleaning materials(such as a rag) and to take responsibility to prevent spillage/clean up any mess. Thank you for your understanding.
• Please keep your phone away while the model is posing, but you're welcome to use it during the break.
• The venue is wheelchair accessible, however, the venue bathroom is not accessible by wheelchair. Please reach out with any questions about accessibility.
