Description
Come and celebrate the 5th anniversary of our boutique family wildlife event, the Sun Bear Children's Festival!
The theme of this year's event is 'Jump for Joy' and focuses on the love our children feel for kangaroos and other local wildlife, and the need to protect these lovely creatures from the threats of development, traffic, fire and culling.
Have fun playing the 'Jump for Joy' game, learn about wildlife rescue, go on guided nature explorations to discover the critters that live along the coast, engage in animal poetry and other exciting and creative wildlife & nature-focussed games & activities, and surround yourself with beautiful like-minded wildlife-loving community.
Program:
Saturday 13 October
5.30 - 7pm: Community Picnic - BYO plastic-wise, zero-waste picnic to gather in the spirit of the festival
7 - 7.30pm: Indigenous Twilight Ceremony
7.45 - 8.45pm: Spotlighting & Stargazing
Sunday 14 October
10am - 2pm: Wildlife & nature-focussed games, activities, talks & walks, young musicians & animal poetry on stage, kangaroo-whistle fitting, river clean up, food & drinks

The Sun Bear Children's Festival is a fun day out for the whole family, connecting all of us closer to nature and all its creatures big & small living on Wadawurrung Country.
Children have to be accompanied by a responsible guardian at all times. The festival is located in a public space on the lawn next to the Anglesea river and Shark Park playground.
We are a plastic-wise, zero-waste event. BYO coffee cup and drinking bottles. Coffee van, water station and food vans on site.
