About this event

  • 4 hours

Join us for a free workshop on suicide alertness, where participants will learn to identify, ask the question and refer individuals with thoughts of suicide, as well as discussing common perceptions and myths around suicide that prevent people from taking action.

LivingWorks safeTALK is a free four-hour workshop that teaches people to be more alert to someone thinking of suicide and better able to connect them with further help.

In LivingWorks safeTALK you will learn how to reach out to someone thinking about suicide and how to help keep them safe by connecting them to further support. The main focus of this workshop is on your role as a connector. The workshop features:

  • Trainer presentations, facilitated discussion, and skills practice
  • Opportunities to further explore organisational applications of the training
  • A community resource person on hand to support your safety and comfort.

This workshop will be held in the Nowra Library Meeting Room. A light morning tea will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: there is a minimum number of 15 participants required for this workshop to run. We appreciate your cooperation in committing to this training and letting us know if you unexpectedly can no longer attend.
