Classic Meets Contemporary Masterclass

Join Garden Life founder Richard Unsworth and stylist Alex for an inspiring morning of garden styling, design ideas, and hands-on learning - exploring the art of blending timeless elegance with modern flair.

With expert advice on plant choices and pot selection, you’ll discover how to create a garden that feels both beautifully classic and effortlessly contemporary - a space that not only looks stunning but also thrives in its environment.

In this masterclass, you'll learn how to:

  • Select pots and plants to create a desired aesthetic
  • Combine classic forms with contemporary styling
  • Work with contrasting textures, foliage, and colour palettes
  • Use scale and proportion to elevate your space
  • Mix and match pot and plant styles with confidence
  • Apply trade-secret styling tips and tricks
  • Tap into the latest trends while keeping your look timeless

Following a presentation, you’ll explore curated examples of compositions or ‘looks’ that you can recreate at home, showcasing the balance between traditional and modern garden design.

There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A, so you can ask your specific questions and receive personalised advice from the Garden Life team.

All ticket proceeds are donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

ABOUT THE INDIGENOUS LITERACY FOUNDATION

The Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) is a national charity of the Australian Book Industry, working with remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities across Australia. We are Community-led, responding to requests from remote Communities for culturally relevant books, including early learning board books, resources, and programs to support Communities to create and publish their stories in languages of their choice. ILF has 3 core programs: Book Supply, Book Buzz and Community Publishing. These 3 programs focus on ensuring access to quality resources such as books in First Languages and publishing Community stories.
