Every day, women living in poverty face immense challenges to achieving their full potential. They struggle to find decent work, provide their families with three meals a day and access safe shelter and medicine when they’re sick.
Stride the Divide is a charity walk/run that aims to eliminate these barriers for women by empowering them with small loans to start businesses so they can earn regular incomes and work their way out of poverty, with dignity and purpose.
Stride the Divide is inspired by Opportunity International Australia supporter Chris Bailey, who is walking over 4,000km from Mexico to Canada along the Pacific Crest Trail to raise $100,000 for Opportunity.
You can Stride the Divide just like Chris on 14 October in Melbourne by taking part in the 6km or 10km walk or run. There will be post event celebrations at Pilgrim Bar, only a short walk down the river from the finish line, so be sure to hang around.
