Stretch and Learn
Make meaning this morning with a light breakfast paired with a weight-neutral, lived experience exploration of eating disorders and movement
Join us as we talk about all things body neutrality, dissect diet culture, and learn how to move our bodies with care and compassion rather than out of obligation.
This session is open for all members of the public, with priority going to Brooke Pearson's Just Move clients.
WHAT: A body-neutral, informative, shame-free and lived experience-grounded breakfast, screening of 'Forget What You Think You Know', and lived experience reflection helping to reframe food, bodies, and wellbeing.
WHEN: Monday 2nd March, 8:00am - 10:00am
WHERE: Just Move Studio, 132 Albany Hwy, Albany WA 6330
We live in a world saturated with diet culture, body shame, morality around food, and constant pressure to meet unrealistic standards. With so many mixed messages, it can be hard to recognise what a healthy relationship with food even looks like, especially when disordered patterns are often normalised and celebrated.
YOU CAN EXPECT:
Light breakfast, lived experience discussion and mini-workshop delving into eating disorders (EDs), disordered eating, and outlines a weight-neutral approach to wellbeing andwhilst deconstructing common stereotypes around eating disorders, movement and health.
We will share food in a neutral, celebratory way, modelling what it means to eat without guilt, fear, or rules. This session is suitable for anyone looking to support themselves or others, to challenge diet culture, or to build a more inclusive, weight-neutral approach to health and wellbeing.
