East Gippsland Shire Council and Complete Streets invites you to join in an interactive workshop designed to assist communities, street makers and authorities to maximise the value we can get from our streets, be they main streets, mixed use streets or the streets where we live.
Our streets all play different roles in our settlements and we must ensure that regional communities receive the benefit they need and deserve.
Session program will include:
Streets – what is their job?
What types of streets are there?
Are streets for Movement or Place?
Case Studies - Brainstorming session
The workshop will bring practitioners and communities closer together on the issues surrounding street making.
Attendees will discuss streetmaking with a people context. This will lead to a discussion about land use planning including the use of planning schemes.
The workshop will explore safety for people using streets and intersections.
It will also discuss parking and how it plays a significant role in the development of a vibrant community.
