Storytime and Cultural Learning with Jaeden Williams Briggs

Overview

Join a lively morning story time on Country to celebrate trees and the lifeforce they bring into our lives at Truganina Explosives Reserve.

Join a lively morning story time on Country to celebrate trees and the lifeforce they bring into our lives. Presented by Hobsons Bay Libraries as part of 'Dear Agnes,' contemporary public art program at Truganina Explosives Reserve.

We’ll dig into delightful tree-themed tales, sing songs, and explore the wonders of nature.

Perfect for little sprouts and their grown-ups, come ready to learn, play, make and grow! Bring along your hats and sunscreen.

Jaeden Williams Briggs, a proud Boonwurrung & First Peoples educator, cultural leader, and mental health advocate will be teaming up with Rockin' Russell from Hobsons Bay Libraries for these two unique outdoor events.

Jaeden’s work focuses on supporting children’s wellbeing, nervous system regulation, and learning through culturally grounded approaches that centre relationship, rhythm, and connection to Country. He works closely with educators, services, and organisations to move beyond tokenistic practice and embed Indigenous knowledge in ways that are respectful, practical, and safe for children.

Russell and his guitar have been bringing music and stories to young library audiences for over 40 years. Classic songs and rhymes blend beautifully with his own book and nature inspired original songs.

A craft activity and book nook area will be provided as a quiet sensory zone.
