Overview

Does your child have a creative imagination and enjoy reading and playing with words?


Storytelling Club is a fantastic outlet for budding wordsmiths and engaging storytellers! Each week, we will explore different topics through games, discussions and storytelling activities.

Program Details
This program runs for 6 weeks every Tuesday from February 17th to March 24th 2026. Attendees can choose to attend a single session or the full 6 week block.

Suitable for children ages 8-12 years. Children under 10 must have an adult remain onsite.

What to Expect?

Each week is designed to help your child :

  • build essential language, cognitive, and social-emotional skills,
  • foster imagination, empathy, and cultural understanding,
  • promoting a love for learning, reading, and writing
  • explore new vocabulary, complex ideas, and diverse perspectives in an engaging way.

Cost
$5 per session or $25 for all 6 sessions (plus booking fee)

About the venue

Cardiff Library, kuram is located on the ground floor of Cardiff Shopping Centre. The library has two accessible entrances: one from the shopping centre car park and another from Macquarie Road. Accessible parking is available directly outside the library within the shopping centre car park. General parking is limited to 2 hours, with a small number of 4-hour spaces available. The library is conveniently located on both bus and train routes.
Accessible bathrooms are provided at the venue.

Photography and Filming Notice
This event may be photographed and filmed, and your image could be used in advertising and promotion by Lake Macquarie City Council. Should you wish to not be photographed or filmed please advise event organisers on entry at the event.
