Overview

Story Dogs brings pups and their volunteer humans to help kids relax, have fun, and grow confident reading aloud during Tasmania Reads.

Story Dogs is a reading support program where trained volunteers and accredited dogs listen to primary school children reading.

As part of Tasmania Reads at Huonville Library, book a session to read to one of the dogs.

Individual reading sessions are 20 minutes for one child.

Bookings are recommended!


Parking:

• Maximum 2 hour stay in the library car park

• All day parking in council carpark, short walk from the library

To ensure a successful event, please:

• Let us know if you can’t attend so we can give your place to someone else

• Don't attend if you are unwell

• Follow hygiene practices eg. hand sanitising

• Let us know if you have any support needs or if a support person will be coming with you.

Accessibility:

• 1 permit mobility parking spaces next to the library - 2 hour parking limit

• Level access, automatic entrance doors, wide doorways and aisles for wheelchairs

• Accessible toilet with a change table for children.
