Stenciling Basics Workshop

Sarah Sculley is a Sunshine Coast-based street artist who has over 15 years experience in the Creative Industries. She began painting murals in 2010 and has since painted many large-scale murals in Nepal, Indonesia and Australia. Sarah has worked on various types of murals, from community focused, to Council led, arts grant funded, corporate and private mural commissions. She studied a Bachelor of Design Studies majoring in Graphic Design and Visual Culture at the Queensland College of Art and received a scholarship from Griffth University to study abroad at the Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland. Sarah is also a Sessional Academic in the Creative Industries Department at QUT and runs street art workshops in secondary schools throughout Queensland.Sarah is currently a practising graphic designer, artist and muralist. Her work is inspired by the stencil-style of Bansky with the addition of colour. Sarah creates bright, energetic layered work that subtly comments on her surroundings. Inspired by people, environment and animals, her work exists to empower, inform, connect and better the people who view it, own it and walk past it everyday. With an innate need to make the world better, her work aims to inspire others to do better, be better and triumph.

Come along to the Jugglers Art Space 'Saturday Spray' afternoon and join in on the Stenciling basics workshop. Run by urban artist, Sarah Sculley, you will learn how to create and cut a stencil and how to spray your stencil to create a bright and edgy artwork. All safety gear, materials and tools are supplied. Each participant will take home their stencil and final artwork on paper!
All ages are welcome. Children aged under ten will need an adult to help them at all times. This workshop is free. Please wear old clothes, a hat, sunscreen and a bottle of water.
