Description

“You need experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience”

Regardless of your industry and role, every person has experienced this frustrating paradox as a first-time job seeker. At Real Skills Education, we work to help STEM students jump this initial hurdle by stepping them through 3 key stages:

  1. Exposure: With the average millennial having 13+ jobs in their lifetime, students must explore all available opportunities, to better decide their future careers.

  2. Upskill: A recent FYA report shows that learning will be 30% of a person's job in 2021, it is crucial to motivate students to self-learn and develop their skills quickly.

  3. Connect: Once students have been exposed and upskilled sufficiently, they are connected to our vast network of STEM industries who trust us with providing the best.

Embodying this philosophy is our flagship STEM Leaders Program (SLP), which serves as a broad introduction to the STEM industry’s inner workings and expectations. Over a month, participants will cultivate key skills that will make them well-suited to tackling the STEM industry’s ever-evolving challenges.

The Expo Night is your opportunity to explore how RSE produces the next generation of STEM Leaders.

Throughout the night, you will be able to engage with exceptionally hard-working and talented students and see what they have accomplished through our flagship program. This is also your chance to learn more about how RSE is preparing students to become more adaptive, independent, collaborative and technically-literate for the new work reality and how you could be involved in our mission.

The projects on display cover a wide range of fields in the STEM industry. Our industry projects have been kindly provided by our partners from AECOM, Aquamonix, Honeywell, Perlin, and Transport for NSW.

Light refreshments and catering will be provided throughout the event.

Organised by

Real Skills Education is a student-run, not-for-profit professional development organization that aims to bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace, by providing a platform for companies to engage with some of the best and brightest STEM students in Sydney. We do this through our simulation-based learning workshops (such as our biannual STEM Leaders Program) that build the strong interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial thinking required for the STEM Leaders of Tomorrow
