Built in Sydney in 1902, VIP and Vice-Regal Steam Launch Lady Hopetoun is a classic example of the grace and style of Edwardian steam launches of her period.
She is maintained in full operational order by Sydney Heritage Fleet’s volunteers and is available for charter on Sydney Harbour, as well as carrying passengers on scheduled Fleet cruises. She is one of the Fleet’s five operational heritage vessels more than 100 years old.

Fully BYO, so bring your own food and beverages. Complimentary tea & coffee will be provided throughout the day.
- Boarding 11:30am - Departing 12:00am (sharp) - Returning 3:00pm
- Vessel: 1902 VIP Steam Lauch Lady Hopetoun
- What to wear: sensible footwear, bring a windproof jacket. No sharp heeled shoes.
Where to arrive: Sydney Heritage Fleet's Heritage Docks and Workshop, Gate 4, 13 James Craig Road, Rozelle, NSW 2039.
The SHF gate is located on the right-hand side of the first roundabout on James Craig Road (look out for the signs). Come through the wire gate.
- Note: You will not be able to view the boats from the street. Also, this is not our administration head office.
- If travelling over the Anzac Bridge, take the 3rd lane marked "Leichhardt" and when you have crossed the bridge, turn left into James Craig Road. Do not go into the tunnel.

- Bus No 433 Balmain – Gladstone Park
- Light Rail from Central Station (alight Rozelle Bay) + short walk (15 min) (at Rozelle Bay, cross over the tracks, walk down ramp on the right, cross over the road at the lights, turn left and follow the pathway to James Craig Road)
- Taxi / Uber
- Self-drive - paid parking in James Craig Road (Sydney Boathouse) - veer right at roundabout on James Craig Road
- Street parking in Johnston St, Annandale
Special Conditions
- Minimum age is 4 years old.
- Stilettos, sharp-heeled shoes and smoking strictly prohibited.
*Please note the vessel will leave the wharf promptly at 12.00noon.
*Please be aware that the weather can change during the day. A windproof jacket is useful whatever the weather as it may be breezy and cold out on the Harbour.
*Please note that due to the heritage nature of all our heritage vessels, they are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Access to toilet is by a couple of steps below deck.
