In this hands-on workshop, using a health-related dataset, participants will be introduced to Stata’s features and learn the basics which are essential for new users of Stata. This course will focus on how to use Stata to

• Input and output data.

• View your data.

• Create new variables.

• Produce simple summary statistics.

• Create simple graphs.

• Provide advice for checking data.

• Write your own programs to edit your data and run your analysis.

Throughout the day there will be time to practice learned techniques and to ask questions. There will also be the option of progressing at your pace.

Participants are required to bring their own laptop to the workshop. If you do not have Stata (version 16 or 17) installed on your laptop please indicate when you enrol in the workshop, and we will provide you with a temporary Stata 17 license.
