A 10-week, parent/carers only,  program to build knowledge and skills in parents to support themselves and their young people.

Granite Belt Neighbourhood Centre

This program is for parents and carers only to learn knowledge and skills to support themselves and their young people. A meal will be prepared and shared with participants at the end of the session. The program will run for 10 weeks throughout Term 2 on Thursday evenings (except for ANZAC Day) from 6-7pm. Week 1 – Introduction to program, Nutrition, meal providedWeek 2 - Connection to family and friends, playing games, meal providedWeek 3 – Understanding and building resilience, meal providedWeek 4 – Alcohol, Nicotine and Vaping, meal providedWeek 5 – Other Drugs, meal providedWeek 6 – Visit to Fitness Centre, Group fitness session with PT, meal providedWeek 7 – Creek walk, group fitness session outdoors with PT, meal providedWeek 8 – The importance of sleep, meal providedWeek 9 – Mindfulness and getting into life, meal providedWeek 10 – Celebration of completion, summary of learnings, distribution of recipe book, fitness programs, drug and alcohol information etc
