The Standard MHFA teaches adults how to assist someone facing a mental health challenge or crisis until professional help arrives. Workplace

  • Light lunch (vegetarian option on request) and light refreshments provided.
  • Arrive 9:15 am for a 9:30 start with a 4 pm finish.
  • Both days are required for accreditation.

  • Shae is a licensed MHFA instructor, a seasoned Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience in genuine mental health emergency and disaster response.

The Standard Mental Health First Aid course equips participants to provide initial support to adults experiencing mental health issues or crises until professional help is available. Participants learn to recognise signs and symptoms of common mental health problems, respond to crises, and understand available treatments.

Using an evidence-based action plan, they learn how to approach and speak with those in distress, offer initial support, and encourage them to seek professional help. Upon completion, participants become Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders), ready to reduce stigma and promote mental health support in various settings. A short assessment at the end of the course leads to Accreditation as an MHFAider, valid for 3 years.
