Spring holiday program: Native bee hotels

Stonnington Library + Information Serviceprovide a wide range of services to people who live, work and visit the City of Stonnington.We also presenta range of free and low cost programs and events to support and enhance the literacy, learning and lifestyle needs of our communities. Individuals of all ages and abilities can come together to connect with and learn from writers, artists, thought leaders, industry experts and each other about literature, history, technology, creating and upskilling.

Children's craft workshop with a sustainable focus

Join artist and sustainable jeweller Emma Grace in this hands-on workshop where participants will be guided to create magical, miniature structures for your native local bees to call home. These happy homes will attract all kinds of friendly insects which help flowers and plants grow!Using a combination of recycled and natural materials sourced from home, together we&#x27;ll build our constructions, then decorate them with creativity and flair.Participants will need the following materials:•	Empty and clean tin can (eg 400gm tomatoes)•	Bamboo, rolled bark, or dowel with a hole drilled in it•	Straw or dried grass (no lawn clippings)•	Gum nuts, pine cones, twigs•	Large leaves•	Clay•	String•	Paint (optional)•	ScissorsThis event will be presented via Zoom. To join you will need an internet-enabled computer, tablet or smartphone. The video link will be emailed on the day of the event.
