Summer Solstice Christmas Night Market and Cabaret

Summer Solstice celebrates the longest day of the year and the start of the Summer holidays. A week before Christmas, the Night Markets will be a great opportunity to support local artists and small business who create sustainable and ethical products.The evening will start with African Drumming, a Solstice Ceremony and include circus performances and music. Fire Twirling and Permaculture Workshops will be offered, including children&#x27;s and arts activities, and thought provoking discussions.All this and some great organic food on offer and a fund raising jungle bar to toast to Summer.MAIN STAGE6pm Gates Open6:30pm Zormiwasa African Drumming Performance with Students of Talkin the Drum, directed by Elliot Orr7pm On the Green: Dragon Master Academy Twirling Workshop by Mikiah Storm and Moxie Come over to the play area and grab a staff or poi, feel free to flow, and take the opportunity to upgrade your moves with World Class Fire Performers! Your favourite bubbly children’s entertainer is going to present her amazing bubble show. Prepare yourself for a bubble popping extravaganza, impossible bubbles and bubble secrets galore.Lyra performance by EmmaTrapeze performance by Reagan 8pm MAIN STAGE Dragon Master Academy Fire Twirling Performance 8:15pm MAIN STAGE Úna HeeraÚna Heera is a folk-roots songwriting tribe formed by good friends with many songs of survival, friendship, love, solidarity and healing to share. This magical ensemble of singer/songwriters and musicians includes: Dawn (Aus/Can) on lyrics &amp; keys; Kris Field on lyrics &amp; accordion; Hughie Doherty on guitar, slide &amp; ukulele; Daryl James (Wales, UK) on banjo, mandolin &amp; guitar; and Sam Reynolds on bass. Their name was inspired by Dawn&#x27;s great grandmothers, Una from America and Heera from India, two incredibly brave women who conjured much strength and resilience through difficult times. Úna is also the fae queen of love and light in Irish mythology... DIY clay face/body painting.Sustainability Board - share your sustainability ideas! Northey Street City Farm Events are always WASTE FREE EVENTS. We do charge a small fee of $1 to hire a cup and plate. BYO Cup and Plate to avoid waste free fee.We look forward to celebrating the Summer Solstice with you in the beautiful open air festival space at Northey Street City Farm.Kids under 6 years are Free.The government has classified our event as a Music Festival and the mandate requires this event to be for vaccinated staff, performers and patrons or those unvaccinated with medical exemptions only. Vaccination status will be available through the check in app and more information will be provided closer to the date and at the box office. Every other service at the Farm is inclusive. Our Sunday Organic Farmers Market is an essential food service and will remain open to all. Everyone can continue to enjoy the CIty Farm Nursery and all the NSCF Permaculture workshops and tours.
