Overview

Spirometry Training provides comprehensive training in the application and interpretation of expiratory spirometry in general practice.

Brought to you by Murray PHN and the National Asthma Council Australia as part of the National Asthma Council Australia's Asthma Education Program.

The six-hour interactive workshop includes a practical, hands-on component to allow participants to apply their new knowledge in a practical setting.

Learning outcomes:

  • Identify the clinical indications where spirometry is recommended.
  • Demonstrate the ability to correctly perform a spirometry test, using role play and peer review.
  • Interpret spirometry results to differentiate between respiratory conditions, such as asthma and COPD.
  • Assess your own practice quality assurance procedures for spirometry.

Audience: Practice nurses, general practitioners and other primary healthcare professionals in the Murray PHN region.

Accreditation:

This activity has been approved by RACGP for 4.5 hours of Educational Activities and 1.5 hours of Reviewing Performance. RACGP Activity ID 409754.

This activity has been approved by ACRRM as an educational event for 6 hours. ACRRM Activity ID 40594

Registration: Door opens from 8:45am.
