The 'Social Mixer Edition' of Speed Mating is our most informal gathering yet. Unlike our structured events, this one celebrates freedom: more time to chat, fewer formalities, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere where conversations can unfold naturally.
No timed rotations.
No formal icebreakers.
Just good music, open energy, and genuine connection.

What To Expect:
- Fun, feel good music, a lightly facilitated vibe, and optional conversation prompts on screen if you’d like a little nudge to get chatting.
- You’ll have two full hours to freely mingle, practise your social skills, and connect at your own pace.
- While this edition may especially suit those who already feel socially confident, it’s absolutely open to everyone.
- If you’re still building that confidence, come anyway - you’ll be supported, welcomed, and encouraged to take things at whatever pace feels right for you.

We’ll be gathering in the back bar of The Laird Hotel - one of Australia’s longest running gay owned venues. Once known as Melbourne’s iconic bear and leather bar, The Laird has evolved into a warm and inclusive meeting place for same sex attracted CIS and Trans men.
Event Details:

- Arrive by 6:45pm for a 7:00pm start
- Free tickets (bring a friend!) via Eventbrite until sold out

- This is not a dating or hook up event. It’s about friendship, building social confidence, and finding your place in community - so please respect the vibe.
- Please make sure that if you book a ticket, actually turn up on the night. If you can't make it, cancel your ticket so someone else can come along.
