About this event

Specialist Series Overview

As experts in their respective fields, specialist teachers are engaged with a broad scope of learners on a daily basis. The Culture Tech Specialist Series is a weekly professional learning opportunity for teachers working across specialist areas to incorporate innovative teaching and learning through the use of iPad and Apple Pencil.

Working with an accredited Apple Professional Learning Specialist, each workshop will focus on the simple incorporation of Apple Native and common apps to a specific specialist learning area to enhance curriculum delivery and student assessment capability. In demonstrating specific links to Australian Curriculum outcomes, and supported by local classroom examples, specialist teachers will be confident to immediately apply this professional learning to their practice in authentic and meaningful ways.

Session 1: Digital Technologies

Getting students to plan, develop and prototype apps on their iPads with Keynote is an excellent way to engage, challenge, support and extend learners in creating something for the future. In this workshop we will create an interactive prototype of an app focused on Numeracy. You will witness first hand how this process has a place in every area of the curriculum and assists in developing critical and creative thinking skills for the 21st century.
