Rosalind Crisp is an East Gippsland based dancer and choreographer, born in Omeo. She established her arts practice at Omeo Dance studio in Sydney, relocating to Paris in 2003.
Rosalind’s work explores relational processes between bodily sensation and compositional choice-making. Since 2017 her collaborative art form project DIRt (Dance In Regional disaster zones) deals with bodily responsivity to the environmental crisis in East Gippsland. www.omeodance.com
In this performance-lecture, Rosalind will draw out themes from her own work that resonate with the exhibition Great Movements of Feeling, such as the notion of a ‘porous body’ entered via the senses and the pre-verbal, in Sriwhana Spong’s work, and the raw intimacy of revealing the personal-sensorial in the public realm in Nik Pantazopoulos’s work. For Rosalind, as a live performer, the ‘impression’ of an artwork on the viewer is a reciprocal force, the viewer also influencing the artwork being created with them in real time.
