Speaking Up: Communication for Self-Advocacy

10:00am – 1:00pm (please arrive at 9:45am if you would like some time to settle in before the session, which will start at 10am sharp).
Join the My Voice My Rights My Way team for our band-new workshop Speaking Up: Communication for Self-Advocacy. This is one of four new workshops developed by and for people with Lived and Living Experience.
Communication for Self-Advocacy will cover:
- How to use assertive communication in Self-Advocacy
- How to use indirect communication techniques for Self-Advocacy
- How to prepare for Self-Advocacy
- The importance of maintaining wellbeing whilst Self-Advocating
This session will be delivered alongside a light morning tea which will accommodate vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dietary requirements.
Our other workshops will cover Self-Advocacy essentials and various aspects of system navigation, with healthcare rights and maintaining wellbeing throughout. Stay tuned for more to follow.
