About this event

  • 1 hour

Exploding out of the London blues scene in the early 1960s, the Rolling Stones embarked on a career that still continues, over 60 years later. The first stage was filled with arrests, scandals, drugs and death. But also some of the most arresting and vital music of the 1960s, mostly written by the formidable pair of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. The lecture will cover some highlights and career from their foundation by Brian Jones and Ian Stewart to the death of Jones in 1969, 55 years ago.
