McBride Charles Ryan (MCR) is hosting an exhibition celebrating the architectural culture of the south of Melbourne. The event will showcase the works of both current and historic architects like Robin Boyd, Neil Clerehan, and Graham Gunn. It's a great opportunity to explore the evolution of architectural styles in the area and appreciate the contributions of these talented individuals.
‘South Space’ explores the continuing legacy of Architects practicing in the South both past and present. It studies the relationships of these practices to each other and their context. The exhibition traces the principles that govern their design ethos and explores the drivers that empower their work.
Collaborators Include: Bird de la Coeur, Blight, Blight & Blight, Brearly Architects and Urbanists, Coy Yiontis, Grant Amon, Lucy Clemenger, Maria Danos, Nervegna Reed, OOF! Architects, RBA Architects, Coco & Richard Swansson, Sally Draper, Searle x Waldron Architecture & Susi Leeton.
Join us for the opening night of 'South Space' on Friday the 24th of May at 6pm.
Note: This exhbition will run the duration of Melbourne Design Week 2024 (25 May - 2 June) and is open to the public Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm.
