Social Media Foundations and Content Strategy

In the first part of the session, we’ll explore why social media often feels challenging for health and allied professionals. We’ll discuss why polished, “professional” content doesn’t always perform well and address common barriers such as time, confidence, compliance, and inconsistency. Most importantly, we’ll reframe social media as a trust-building tool focused on reassurance rather than perfection. We’ll then cover the foundations that actually matter in a health setting, including how to choose the right platform, how often you realistically need to post, and which content types work best. Attendees will be introduced to three core content types — educational, process-based, and perspective-based — that build credibility and clarity without oversharing, using a simple and ethical structure that can be applied immediately.

Live Content Capture Demo & Q/A

The workshop includes a live content capture demonstration led by a producer and videographer, showing how professional content can be created simply and comfortably. Attendees will see how to set up a phone correctly for filming, including framing, lighting, and sound, and how to turn a basic idea into a clear, ethical video prompt. An optional live example will demonstrate what recording short-form content actually looks like in practice. We’ll then cover how to apply what’s been learned without overwhelm, including practical next steps, common mistakes to avoid when posting as a health professional, and an overview of the extended 3–4 hour content planning workshop for those who want deeper support. The session will conclude with key takeaways, resources, and optional pathways to continue learning or receive support, leaving attendees feeling confident, informed, and supported.
