Learn tips and tricks for improving your photography skills to bring your social media pages to life using simple equipment and techniques.

About this event

Please note: this event is run by the Small Business Development Corporation for small business owners in Western Australia only.

Social media photography doesn't have to be complicated or use expensive equipment. With the rise of social media networks like Facebook and Instagram, using photos can be a simple and effective way to connect with current and potential customers.

This session explains tips and tricks for improving your photography skills to bring your social media pages to life.

This topic covers

  • Phoneography including smartphone video;
  • Hacks, tips and tricks for improving your photography skills to bring your social media pages to life;
  • Why the brain loves images, including the do’s and don’ts for high-engagement images;
  • How to build an image library for your business;
  • Tools, platforms and templates to help you get started.

This session is for people with an established business who have an established social media page.

The facilitator for this topic, Belmont Business Enterprise Centre (Belmont BEC), is a not-for-profit community based organisation established in 1994 to assist in the growth and development of small business.  The presenter of this topic is an author, speaker, creative coach and radio presenter.

This session is presented by the SBDC, the only agency in the Western Australian Government dedicated to helping small business. In fact, we've been providing practical support to small business owners for more than 30 years.

Important booking information

You are limited to two tickets per booking (you can of course make more than one booking).

We will be emailing you with important information on how to find workshop locations and what you need to bring, if it is a face-to-face event. If you are attending an online workshop you will receive instructions and a link on how to join and important information to ensure your device is suitable. Therefore, if you are booking for more than one person, please ensure you provide each person's email address.

To book for larger groups, please contact us on 133 140.

You can cancel your booking up to 24 hours before the workshop starts. Even for free sessions we would appreciate you cancelling if you cannot attend so another small business owner can take your place. For paid sessions, no refunds will be issued within 24 hours of the scheduled start time.

Additional information for online workshop sessions

Please check your computer's suitability for online workshops, including its sound quality, browser, internet bandwidth and speed and video plugins (if required) before the start of the online workshop session. Camera and microphone capabilities are recommended to interact with online workshops.

Our online workshops are run as live, interactive sessions, similar to the format of our face-to-face sessions. For this reason, there is a limited number of tickets per session so our presenters can adequately interact with, and respond to, attendees. Recordings of these live sessions are not available if you do not attend the live event time.

Additional information for face-to-face workshop sessions

No, you don't need to bring your printed ticket.

We value inclusion for clients requiring disability access and our workshops are delivered in a variety of buildings and locations. If you would like further information about accessing a particular workshop please use the contact button at the end of this page to send us your query.
