As part of the South Side Festival and our commitment to help reduce textiles and fast fashion going into landfills, Frankston City Libraries, with the Frankston Council Waste Circularity Team and excited to present this workshop showing how to elevate a piece of clothing in need of repair, simply by getting creative with your mending!

Do you have a favourite piece of clothing that is damaged, or near its wear and tear date, but you are not ready to part with it yet? Come along to these sessions with your garment and save it.

Bring along a piece of clothing with a tear or hole, and we will show you the art of visible repairing, using other fabric or embroidery techniques to bring beauty to a rip, hole, or tear.

No sewing experience is necessary! We will supply the needles, some threads, some scrap materials and other tools. If you do have any specific thread/yarn/material/ buttons etc to go with your piece that needs mending, feel free to bring them along too!

Come along to this free sessions, have a chat and learn some new things to save your duds.

Available to all ages who can sit, relax and concentrate on some mending and sewing.

Presented by the Frankston Council Waste Circularity Team in collaboration with the Frankston Library Team.
