🌟 Want to help your kids develop a healthy heart while having fun? It's time to introduce them to the world of skipping! 🌟

📆 Every Saturday for 6 Weeks, Starting May 25th to June 29th

🕚 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM

Looking for a fun and healthy activity for your kids that can improve their physical development and social skills? Look no further than Skipping for Healthy Hearts! Skipping is a great way to strengthen the heart muscles , improve circulation, and reduce the risk of heart disease, all while having fun with friends.

This free program is the perfect way for your kids to have fun, stay active, and improve their heart health. Not only does skipping promote physical health, but it also helps to boost mood and mental well-being.

Skipping workshops run for 1 hour each Saturday over a 6-week period, from Saturday 25th May through to Saturday 29th June. Workshops will run as normal on long weekends.

There are 3 locations across Canberra so you can choose the location that suits your family best!

How much does Skipping for Healthy Heart cost?

Skipping for Healthy Hearts is free to all

Will my child need their own skipping rope?

Skipping ropes will be supplied, but you’re welcome to bring your own

What does my child need to bring?

We recommend a pair of running shoes, comfortable clothing that is good for moving around, and a water bottle

What if my child has never skipped before?

From beginner to seasoned skippers, all are welcome! Each week, our Skipping Coaches will help your child build foundational skills and move on to more challenging tricks as your child feels ready for it

Can I register more than one child?

Yes

Can I register for more workshops in the future?

Register once for all 6 sessions of the program this school term 2 Mar- 6 Apr 2024. Skipping for Healthy Hearts will run again this year, and you are welcome to register your child for the program again when registration opens

Is this different to Jump Rope for Heart?

Yes, Skipping for Healthy Hearts is a free, fun 6-week program available throughout the year with participation happening on a Saturday. There is no fundraising ask or requirement to donate. This is a healthy activity to encourage primary school-aged kids to be active and funded by the ACT Gov

Will there be parking available?

All sites have free parking available on-site, or nearby free on-street parking

For which location should I register my child?

You are welcome to register your child for whichever location is most convenient for you and your family

What happens if I register my child for the wrong location

No problem – our Skipping for Healthy Hearts Program Coordinator can assist you with changing the location for your child’s registration. Please send an email to ashleigh.rankin@heartfoundation.org.au for assistance.

Can kids of all ages participate?

Skipping for Healthy Hearts is designed with beginner skippers in mind, no matter the age, however the program is designed for kids aged 8-12 years old
