Shoptalk: A New Musical

Come and experience 'Shoptalk', an original musical comedy exploring the challenges and unexpected absurdities of working in retail.

WORLD PREMIÈRE - TWO PERFORMANCES ONLY

Thesperanto presents Shoptalk, an original musical conceived by Jack Madden with a score by Imogen Bilinsky and additional music and arrangements by Page Maitland.

It follows 20-something retail workers as they contend with burnout, unrequited workplace crushes, and their own demons (sometimes literal), all the while trying to deliver service with a smile.

This will be the first presentation of the musical in full for a paying audience, and we invite you to come along, share your feedback, and enjoy an immersive musical theatre experience like no other.

The Multi-Arts Pavilion mima (MAP mima) is known for exhibitions featuring dynamic and stunning projections, and Shoptalk will be no different and must be seen to be believed.

Accessibility

MAP mima is located in Speers Point Park, off Park Street, on the edge of Lake Macquarie. MAP mima is accessible by ramp with accessible toilets. MAP can be reached easily from the lake foreshore cycleway, the water, or by public transport. There is plenty of parking for cars, and buses with accessible spaces available, onsite and in the surrounding parklands.
