Join us for the launch of SHINE, a collaboration of Skylar J Wynter's affecting poetry and Neshka Turner's beautiful artwork.

In the wake of global pandemic, COVID-19, best-selling author, Skylar J Wynter and artist, Neshka Turner, bring us a captivating collaboration of art and poetry exploring humanity’s quest for transformation from adversity.

Turner’s artwork, an unafraid combination of pieces morphing between stark, to rich with symbology, provide the perfect textured landscape for Wynter’s unapologetic exploration of modern-day challenges we face as individuals and collectives in a bid to be seen, heard and accepted just as we are.

SHINE—embodying the work of two women from very different cultural backgrounds and lived experiences, navigating their way towards love of self—is a visual and poetic invitation to all to embrace the abrasiveness of life. The unflinching images captured between its covers will crack you open, let in the light, and set your mind free with a humble truth: we don’t know what we don’t know, so the only way forward is with decency towards self and others.

4 pm - 6 pm: We start the evening with an opportunity to browse Neshka's artwork from the book, with pieces available to purchase. There will also be a silent auction for the chance to secure an original piece.

6 pm - 8 pm: The book will be launched by award-winning poet and author of Clean, Scott-Patrick Mitchell, and with special guest performances from Sally Newman and Paul R Kohn.

Drinks and nibbles will be provided, and signed books will be available for purchase in either hardcover or softcover formats. Cash and card sales accepted.
