About this event

Learn about the importance of crafting a strong counter fraud narrative to influence a cultural shift. Fraud against the Australian Government is an underestimated and unchecked problem that increases the cost for government to deliver services, and impacts the most vulnerable people in our community. It can sometimes be hard to get your entity engaged in the topic of fraud prevention because the benefit of counter fraud investment is hard to prove. This presentation will provide practical tips for creating a narrative, and a detailed case study based on the UK’s approach.

About our speakers

This webinar will be presented by Deanne Allan, Director at the Commonwealth Fraud Prevention Centre, and Mark Cheeseman, Director of Government Counter Fraud Function at the UK Cabinet Office.

Deanne Allan leads the Evidence and Policy team at the Centre. This team is focused on influencing a shift in how Australian Government entities prevent fraud by providing a strong evidence base, narrative and policy reform. Dee has led the Fraud Capability Baseline Assessment Project and developed the Counter Fraud Narrative Workshops. Before joining the Centre in September 2019, Dee worked at the Australian National Audit Office and was responsible for delivering various performance audits including reporting on the implementation of Australian Government policies and programs.

This webinar will be hosted through Cisco Webex (no software or account is required) which will launch through your web browser. Dial-in details will also be provided.
