About this experience:Shamanic Breathwork is a dynamic, somatic, feeling-focused modality of transformation. A conscious-connected circular breathing technique is drawn upon which aids in dissolving the Ego's masks and defenses to make way for a natural, altered state of consciousness akin to a dreamlike state. Facilitating access to the subconscious mind serves to awaken the inner-healer within, or inner-shaman - the part of your 'self' that with compassionate, curious witnessing, attention and care can move towards integrating any content illuminated for the next stage of your personal evolution. Specifically curated chakra-attunded music supports this sensory experience. The AIR shamanic consciousness cycle:The final element of AIR, we embrace spaciousness, allowing us to take a deep breath and integrate all the elements we have traversed through. In this moment, everything begins to align, and we start to embody the changes we have long sought. This cycle is marked by gratitude, vision, clarity, bringing a profound sense of freedom from limitations. We gain a clearer perspective on the bigger picture of life, leading to feelings of celebration, peace, and enthusiasm. However, challenges may arise, such as aloofness and disconnection from the heart of humanity, as one may become overly intellectual and detached. As you transition into this new reality, it is important to allow yourself time to adjust and integrate these changes. You are in the completion stage of an orbit—a time of rebirth and celebration, reflecting a greater understanding of life and a new layer of yourself. As the journey of life is constantly orbiting and moving through the elements, you will use the wisdom you have cultivated to prepare you for the next spiral of change. This process can uncover long-held energetic and/or behavioural patterns of limitation offering greater self-understanding and self-healing.All that's asked of you is to commit to the process, surrender to the experience and breathe until you're surprised!Possible experiences from your inward journey can include:<ul><li>Traveling time and space (past or future timelines)</li><li>Journeying with beings from non-ordinary realms (spirit guides, ancestors, future children)</li><li>Shapeshifting into a spirit-animal</li><li>Visiting memories from experiences lived</li><li>Rendezvousing with your future-self</li><li>Receiving messages from higher realms of consciousness</li></ul>From a physical perspective, you may experience a release of stagnant, stuck or repressed energy and/or emotion. This may unfurl peacefully or dynamically via movement and catharsis.True healing is found through one's embodied and integrated direct experience and for this reason, an integrative artwork process and opportunity to share is weaved into the container. Important: Shamanic Breathwork requires a commitment to a cyclical breathing pattern and has the potential to bring about intense feelings which may result in strong physical and/or emotional release. This practice involves the voluntary hyper-oxygenation of your bloodstream, paving the way for reaching an altered state of consciousness where you may experience possibilities that are not grounded in this reality - you can control the intensity of the experience by adjusting your breathing pattern. You are always in control. Contraindications (considerations for your safety): If you have Epilepsy, cardiovascular or blood pressure issues you may wish to consider carefully if joining a dynamic breathwork process is appropriate for you. This workshop is not suitable for people under the age of 16. This type of breathwork is not recommended for pregnant women, although if you are pregnant and wish to join, please alert us and you will be offered a more gentle breathing pattern. If you are living with a mental health condition or challenges, please check-in with your current capacity to join. Should you be currently experiencing active episodes of psychosis, please do not join at this time. You are always most welcome to initiate a conversation to discuss your particular needs via grace@centreofyou.com.au. It's best that you attend on a relatively empty stomach and eat a grounding meal following the practice. Trigger/activation warning: This practice encourages the authentic and uninhibited expression of all that arises in real-time. This could appear as screaming, crying, laughter or other forms of vocal sounding. You may hear participants around you. This modality invites you to remain centred within your own process and interpret other people's authentic expressions as their journey without attaching to it. If you feel triggered in response to another’s experience or if you require any attention 1-on-1, you can simply put your hand up for support. If you feel being in such an environment could place you outside of your window-of-tolerance, then a private session with either El or Grace may be more suited to your needs at this time. She believes that only good comes of knowing oneself intimately and is in admiration of anyone that dives deeply within with willingness and commitment.Grace met Shamanic Breathwork in 2018 in Ubud, Bali upon her personal self-discovery quest where the power of the process took her by surprise. She deeply resonates with the ceremonial, elemental and mystical interweavings of Shamanic Breathwork and finds meaning in guiding others to explore what these realms can offer them. Each Shamanic Breathwork journey lives on within Grace as an embodied memory, memories that continue to provide her with insight. As such, Grace believes the integrative component of any journey within holds greater weight than the journey itself. She therefore places relevant focus in her guidership upon translating the cosmic nature of altered consciousness journeying into embodied memory.

About your facilitator - El <a href="https://www.instagram.com/_eluminate/" title="https://www.instagram.com/_eluminate/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">@_eluminate</a>El has traversed through numerous adversities from childhood through her teenage years. Without any education or awareness of how traumatic events impact emotional wellbeing and everyday life, she went on to University to study Outdoor Education and eventually achieved a managerial position in Outdoor Education, where she reached a pivotal moment necessitating change.Whilst she was making an impact working with students and teachers, her experiences included emotional outbursts, uncontrollable anger and frustration in stressful situations, alongside avoidance tendencies and numbing emotions with substances. Despite career success, she felt unfulfilled and sensed a deeper calling in life. Facing nervous breakdowns, panic attacks and toxic relationships, El embarked on a healing journey that led her to discover the transformative power of breathwork and somatic therapy.Now, El is dedicated to creating healing spaces using somatic approaches—breath, movement, sound, and touch. She offers compassionate, intuitive guidance through a blend of these elements, along with emotions and meditation tools, to release physical blockages, regulate the nervous system and connect people back into the wisdom of the body to foster holistic wellbeing.

Things to note:Centre of You has plenty of bolsters, blankets, and cushions for you to get cosy with. A journal is recommended as are any familiar personal items that will aid you in feeling grounded (crystal, teddy, scarf, etc). Bring an eyemask.Personal responsibility: Please make an assessment on whether you are feeling stable and resourced enough to explore the practices on offer in this event.Arrival: Endeavour to arrive between 6:15pm - 6:30pm. To preserve the experience for all involved, doors will close at 6:45pm. Truly, it breaks our heart to have to turn latecomers away yet the disruption to the whole group experience by virtue of lateness does require management. We ask that you find understanding and consideration for the timebound nature of the container and make every effort to arrive on time.Driving: Know Centre of You is on Chapel St and ample time to find a car spot is best to be factored into your plans. Park direct on Chapel St (spots unmetered after 5pm) or in Anchor Place, the open-air parking lot in the side street that runs opposite Centre of You (unmetered after 4pm).Public transport - tram: Both the number 6 tram &amp; 78 tram stop on the corner of High St/Chapel St. This is stop 31 on the number 6 tram (Moreland/Glen Iris) &amp; stop 45 on the number 78 tram (North Richmond/Balaclava).Public transport - train: Both Prahran &amp; Windsor stations along the Sandringham Line will get you walking distance to Centre of You.Finding Centre of You: Centre of You is nestled within the arcade that Chapel St Bazaar is in (217 Chapel St). It is up a flight of stairs with a wide landing at the half-way-point. Unfortunately, this current version of Centre of You does not have a wheelchair accessible lift.
