About this event

Sexuality and Rehabilitation- a neglected issue no longer! If you are looking to upskill in the area of disability and sexuality, then join Specialist Social Worker and Psychosexual Therapist Candice Care-Unger from Care Rehab at Neuro Alliance on May 11th 10am-4pm

This workshop aims to improve knowledge and confidence in health professionals working in rehabilitation and disability and will provide attendees with:

· An understanding of human sexuality and sexual functioning;

· An understanding of the impact of neurological injury, illness and disability on sexual functioning

· A sex positive vocabulary for clinical work and advocacy in disability and rehabilitation settings;

· Skills in goal setting to address sexuality in rehabilitation and disability settings across the life course.

· An understanding of available interventions to support sexuality goals for all genders and ages

· A safe learning environment to ask questions and learn amongst peers

This workshop includes a combination of didactic learning, videos, case study and role play to facilitate the acquisition of skills and expand confidence for all members of the MDT.

This CPD event is appropriate for Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Behaviour Support Practitioners or any other allied health professionals with intrest in this area.

Who is Candice Care-Under?

Candice is a seasoned social worker with 18 years experience and is also a qualified Sexologist. Her educational credentials include postgraduate qualifications in sexual health and reproduction, a Master's in Public Health, and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Sydney.
