The Workshop

The workshop is hosted by Daniel of Sequel Bakery, based in the Northern Rivers of NSW.

The process of making bread takes around 24 hours, so we will have preprepared stages so you can feel, see, and touch each stage during our 3 hours together. We get our hands on every stage of the dough including feeding the starter, mixing, shaping, baking and eating.

We bring together the intuition and science of bread-making to create the perfect humble loaf. Through conversation, we break down some of the ideas around why many people today cannot eat bread and how to slowly reintroduce bread back into the diet. We also learn how to use the dough to make delicious woodfired sourdough pizza!

The class finishes with a shared pizza meal and your own dough to take home and bake the next day.

The Location

The workshop is held in the beautiful, historic bakery of Harvest Newrybar. The Bakery features hand crafted elements from the properties history including exposed rafters and recyled timbers and bricks. The bakery is home to a 119 year old wood-fired oven where we bake bread and pizzas.

We believe in the use of organic whole grains and fresh flour wherever possible, investment in the health of the land and its inhabitants and the importance of connection and conversation.
